A 25-year-old woman presents to her primary care physician with a neck lump she first noticed six months ago. She reports it has been slowly growing but seemed to increase in size more rapidly over the past two months. It is painless, but she occasionally has a mild foreign body sensation in her throat. She denies any dysphagia, odynophagia, hoarseness, fever, or chills. Her past medical history is unremarkable, and she takes no regular medications.
